Migraines are recurring, moderate to severe headaches that are typically present on only one side of the head. The patient may experience sensory symptoms often characterized by a sensitivity to light and/or sound, nausea, and other visual disturbances prior to experiencing the actual migraine headache. This is called a migraine aura.
Migraines are about three times more likely to affect women than men and often begin in early adulthood. There is believed to be a genetic predisposition to migraine headaches. Migraines are other forms of headaches and pains are one of the most common reasons patients visit Meridian Pain Management, as migraines can severely disrupt one’s quality of life left untreated.
( We do treat chronic resistant migraine using Botox where the other conventional treatments has failed)
Cervicogenic headaches are broadly defined as any type of headache that arises due to problems with the bones, nerves, or tissues of the neck. These headaches may be the result of trauma to the head or neck, or osteoarthritis of the cervical spine joints.
Since a cervicogenic headache can be caused by a variety of issues, it is necessary to see a physician to diagnose the root cause of these headaches.
